Rick Muñoz provided information and guidance to the ANR with the objective of strengthening their licensing and inspection of industrial radiographic operations and for inspecting medical facilities. From September 9-13, 2019, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s (NRC) Radiation Sources Regulatory Partnership (RSRP) provided radiation safety training in the Republic of the Congo. The workshop, which provided important, complimentary support related to the ongoing sources inventory project in the country, covered different aspects of nuclear and radiation safety and security, including the IAEA Code of Conduct. During September 5-6, 2019, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (USNRC) Radiation Sources Regulatory Partnership (RSRP) visited Mauritania to upgrade the Advanced Regulatory Information System (ARIS) to its latest version ARIS 3.5 at the National Authority of Radiation, Safety and Nuclear Security (ARSN). RSRP provided training for the upgrade that contains a newly developed module (OCCUDOSE) to manage occupational exposure information. Mauritania will play an important role in testing the new module and providing feedback to further improve the software.

On July 17-26, 2019, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (USNRC) Radiation Sources Regulatory Partnership (RSRP) conducted two workshops for the Armenian Nuclear Regulatory Agency (ANRA) Radiation Safety Department and the “Radiation Safety Center” technical support organization staff.
