Provide regulatory staff with technical and safety information, typical regulatory requirements and inspection and licensing techniques for managing the regulatory aspects of well logging.
The workshop on Safety, Security and Regulatory Inspection of Well Logging Operations includes classroom presentations on the devices used in well logging, the objectives and operations of well loggers, the training and qualification of individuals who conduct well logging, the transportation and security of the radioactive sources used in well logging, the safety procedures to protect the well loggers, drillers and members of the public during well logging operations and the proper use of radiation detection devices and instrumentation. The organization and implementation of inspection procedures are also presented. The workshop includes setting up a mock inspection under the supervision of the instructor or the instructor observing an inspection of an operating well logging site by the regulatory staff. In either case, the instructor observes and provides feedback, guidance and mentoring to the regulatory staff.
