The US NRC Radiation Source Regulatory Partnership (RSRP) conducted a virtual meeting with the Uganda Atomic Energy Council (AEC), on October 21, 2020, to discuss AEC plans and identify areas for collaboration. The AEC CEO and Senior Staff Members and US NRC and AdSTM representatives attended the meeting. The meeting resulted in important discussions on AEC´s vision for future bilateral collaboration, which includes public awareness activities, regulatory staff training in authorization/inspection for specific practices and radiation safety officers training. The US NRC and AdSTM will continue to consult with AEC about appropriate assistance for their activities.
