The US NRC Radiation Source Regulatory Partnership (RSRP) conducted a virtual meeting with the Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA), on October 14, 2020, to discuss RURA plans and identify areas for collaboration. RURA regulates sources of ionizing radiation in Rwanda. The RURA Director General and Senior Staff Members and US NRC and AdSTM representatives attended the meeting. The meeting resulted in important discussions on RURA´s vision of the future bilateral collaborations, including regulatory staff training, developing a national registry of radioactive sources, emergency preparedness and response, physical security of sources and public awareness activities. The US NRC and RSRP will continue to consult with RURA about appropriate assistance for their activities
