The US NRC Radiation Source Regulatory Partnership (RSRP) delivered a virtual training seminar on “Introduction to Radiation Physics and Radiation Protection Principles”. The seminar was conducted on August 26, 2020; with a session lasting approximately 2 hours. The seminar provided an overview of basic Radiation Physics concepts, brief discussion of biological effects and considerations under the development of regulatory limits and basic radiation safety practices to protect workers/public (external radiation safety controls and basic contamination controls). Thirty (30) regulatory staff from Armenia, Ethiopia, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tajikistan, Uganda and Zambia attended the seminar.
