During January 04-09 2015, RSRP provided training on the Advanced Regulatory Information System (ARIS2.0) to Energy & Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) of Jordan. The objective of this activity was to upgrade Access-based RASOD/AUTHORIZATION software for accounting the disposition of radiation sources to ARIS 2.0, an SQL based system with improved user interface and new INSPECTION module. The RSRP instructors installed ARIS 2.0 and explained the advantages of having the upgraded software and new INSPECTION module. Detailed guidance was provided on successful installation/uninstallation of ARIS 2.0 and system backup. Hands on exercises demonstrated improved methods of information management for facilities using ionizing radiation sources. Training was conducted by Grigol Basilia of the Department for Nuclear and Radiation Safety of Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia.
The visit included discussions with Mr. Tamer Kasht Director, Communication & International Cooperation of EMRC, regarding current and future projects in strengthening the regulatory oversight of radiation sources in Jordan.
