RASOD Training in Mauritius, Development of National Registry of Radiation Sources

During November 12-16, 2012 RSRP provided training of RPA (Radiation Protection Authority) staff of the Republic of Mauritius in development of the National Registry of radiation sources, x-ray generators, associated devices and user facilities. The RSRP instructor installed RASOD (sources database) and AUTHORIZATION (licensee database) software and provided training which covered hands-on training on data entry and software usage. Training was provided by Grigol Basilia of Nuclear and Radiation Safety Department (NRSD) of Ministry of Energy and natural resources of Georgia. Software was developed and is maintained by Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of Armenia (N&RSC).

During November 15-16, 2012 Sergey Katsenelenbogen (AdSTM/RSRP) discussed with Faradally Ollitt (RPA Chief Radiation Officer/CEO) activities and schedule for completing the National Registry and process for data validation (field verification) and equipment tagging, and the plans for licensing and inspections activities.
